Defrag and Blur 2012

Believe it or not, today is the day when I begin thinking about this year’s Defrag — and after last year’s sold-out, blow-out 5 year anniversary Defrag, I can’t wait. And this year we’re going to be doing something that, I think, is going to give people a chance to experience Defrag in an entirely new way.

Defrag will take place November 14th-15th in Colorado (if anyone asks, we announced these dates over a year ago), and we’ve already confirmed keynote speakers like Paul Kedrosky, James Altucher, Sameer Patel, R Ray Wang, Kevin Kelly, Andrew Keen and others. It will be 2 days of mind-bending main-stage content (as is standard)…with one new twist…

On the second afternoon of Defrag (November 15th), we’ll be kicking off Blur. Blur (which will run the 15th and 16th) is the event that we run that focuses on next-generation human computer interaction (think robots, augmented reality, “minority report” interfaces, etc). In other words, for several hours at the end of day 2 of Defrag, the events will overlap, as Blur keynoters take the stage. Blur will then occur for the rest of that evening and the following day.

In practical terms, this means that you can now come for 3 days and attend both Defrag and Blur. That’s right - in a 3 day span, you can listen to some mind-blowing keynote talks, and then *play* with some mind-blowing human-computer interaction interfaces. In other words, the Defrag/Blur combination is now unlike any other tech conference experience on the planet.

While you’ll still be able to attend “just Defrag” or “just Blur” via single event tickets, I don’t think you’ll want to — and we’ll be offering a combo ticket to accommodate that in the near future (we’ll be launching registration at the end of May). I hope you find the combined Defrag/Blur experience to be as exciting as I do!
